PELIN OZTURK GOCMEN

Pelin Ozturk Gocmen was born in Ankara, Turkey in 1980. After graduating from Baskent University with a degree in Public Relations and Advertising, she decided to pursue a master's degree in graphic design. In 2010, she received her PhD degree in
graphic design from Gazi University.
She works primarily with still and moving images. Her work demolishes the boundaries between fine art, photography and graphic design, combining the subversive and the functional.
Since 2009, she has been focusing on the digital arts and photography. With previous experience in semiology, she strives to show the obscure things in her photographs taken using digital techniques. The Latin phrase, non semper ea sunt quae videntur (things are not always what they appear to be), clearly conveys her style.
